The features above are especially popular with users. However, Salesgear offers other features that are worth mentioning, too.

Let’s check them out as well.

What other features does Salesgear offer?

Like all other automation tools, Salesgear works by sequencing and setting up a pre-defined set of steps that can be applied to a large pool of leads/prospects.

1. Sequence templates:

  • You can use their pre designedtemplates or make your own for the sequences.
  • Salesgear also offers an AI-writing tool for your emails, although it could improve.
  • You can also create LinkedIn tasks to help you engage with your target audience.

  • Salesgear's Dialer feature allows you to connect with your prospects faster.
  • You can also buy a phone number through Salesgear or feed it.

2. Different playbooks for inbound and outbound leads

  • You can use a custom sequence to nurture any leads who join up on your platform.
  • This helps you automate both your outgoing and inbound lead playbooks.
  • Without going to the Salesgear website, log all activity to Hubspot and immediately add a contact to a sequence.
  • Use a playbook that worked earlier to automate engaging with prospects with Salesgear.

3. Reporting and task management

  • The Salesgear dashboard provides insights and a summary, allowing you to understand the progress made at a glance.
  • The metrics can vary, but typically, you get access to the number of tasks scheduled for the day, completed tasks, and email performance metrics such as click rate, open rate, etc.
  • The rich task management feature allows team members to know how many phone calls and LinkedIn connections they need to address for the day.
  • Additionally, the task management tab offers seamless onboarding for new team members.

You can also set up triggers to keep track of interested prospects. Salesgear allows you to set up triggers for:

✅ Track interested prospects

✅ Contact created/updated/opted out/bounced

✅ Email delivered to the contact

✅ Email opened by the contact

✅ The link clicked by the contact

Nothing is perfect.

Not even Salesgear.

Let’s take a look at where Salesgear falls short of user expectations.

Salesgear Cons: What do users not like about Salesgear?

You’re here because you want to know if Salesgear is the right fit for you.

The best way to do that is by understanding where other users think it falls short.

1. Salesgear is not a LinkedIn automation tool.

You heard me right.

Salesgear is primarily an email automation tool.

While Salesgear works with LinkedIn, it doesn’t automate LinkedIn activities.

This prevents you from tapping into the vast market of more than a billion users on LinkedIn.

2. Lack of tutorials about their product

Salesgear lacks good tutorials and even essential how-to videos, making it difficult for the average customer to learn how to use the product.

3. Email interruption on disconnecting inbox

Salesgear’s email campaign stops working without a warning when you disconnect the inbox.

The email campaign resumes only when the next stage in the sequence starts.

The last thing you need is your precious money going down the drain.

4. No Integration With Jira/Other Task Tracking Tools

One user mentions that Salesgear is primarily for “Pre-sales” and not for sales, as it advertises to be.

This is because there is no way to add prospects to a Jira/task tracking board automatically.

Thus, Salesgear is not end-to-end but just a prospecting tool.

5. Limited search options for contacts

Users can only search by email address to find a contact within a particular sequence in Salesgear.

There are no other options.

That must be pretty hard, especially if you don’t have the prospect's exact email address.

6. Limited contact data quality

Despite boasting a database containing details of more than 200 million records, users have noted that Salesgear’s database contains outdated contacts.

Thus, Salesgear struggles to be reliable and consistent.

7. Integration issues

Many users have complained that some integrations fail to work at times with Salesgear.

This can be particularly frustrating when you spend hours perfecting its automation, and it all goes to waste because of integration issues.

Now that you know what Salesgear is suitable for and what it’s terrible at, it is an excellent time to look at the pricing.

How much does Salesgear cost?

Let’s break down Salesgear’s pricing.

💰Free: It's free, but don't get your hopes up.

All you get is:

✅one email inbox per user

✅3 sequences

✅3 templates

Please Note:

Beware: Salesgear changes its pricing quite often. For example, the basic version costs $15/month, but it has been hiked up by over 300% to $49/month.

💰Basic: For $49 a month, you get:

✅1 email inbox per user

✅10 Sequences

✅10 templates

✅CRM integrations

💰Pro: In my honest opinion, this is the first tier that seems to be getting somewhere.

For $69 a month, Salesgear gives you:

✅5 email inboxes per user

✅Unlimited sequences/templates

✅AI writing assistant

✅dialer/call recordings

💰Unlimited: For $99 per month for the annual plan, you get:

✅Unlimited email-inboxes

✅Unlimited email credits

✅50 Phone number credits/month

✅30 custom fields

💰Enterprise: If you’re already a big company that needs cold outreach, Salesgear offers bulk data purchases and unlimited data as part of its Enterprise plan.

This means you get unlimited email inboxes, email credits, and phone call credits.

However, its pricing is not mentioned on the page, which is somewhat inconvenient.

And if you pay annually, you’ll get 20% off.

Salesgear does not require a credit card to sign up, but the pricing can get steep really quickly.

The pricing has actually been an issue for some users.

The free tier allows everyone to dip their toes, but to reap the actual benefits of this tool, the bare minimum is their unlimited plan.

You’re probably feeling what I felt when I used Salesgear - it’s a great tool but has a lot of drawbacks like:

❌No LinkedIn automation capabilities.

❌Lack of tutorials

❌Email disconnections

❌Limited search options

❌Poor contact data quality

❌Integration issues

But don’t worry. I won’t let you go without telling you where to look for an alternative.

(Spoiler Alert: It’s SalesRobot😎)

Conclusion: What have we learned in this Salesgear Review?

Despite Salesgear being one of the top automation tools in the market, as you see from this review, it has quite a few drawbacks.

With their email sequencing and speedy dialer, Salesgear promises to make your life easier. The outreach process becomes more accessible.

But before jumping the gun, keep in mind that cold emails are a thing of the past, and Salesgear is suitable for cold outreach via email, not LinkedIn.

Over the past 12-18 months, cold-email response rates have been on the decline, with the industry average being 1%.

On the flip side, LinkedIn boasts an average response rate of 14%.

That’s 14x.

14 times more responses for your business means that you won’t be this young man waiting for a response.

gif of a young boy waiting with his hand on his chin.

The reason for success on LinkedIn over email is simple.

On LinkedIn, people can see your work, your network, your experience, and who you are.

However, on the rare occurrence that your email does not make it to the spam and the user opens it, it’s just another…well, email in their inbox.

Not very appealing.

Most people are switching over from Salesgear to SalesRobot primarily because of the outreach medium.

Until next time, Cheers.
